RCIL Friends Groups

For those of you who don’t know RCIL has Friends meetings in Emporia, El Dorado, Eureka, Fort Scott, Iola, Osage City, and Paola.   We send out a schedule in our quarterly newsletter that allows you know what the topic of the meeting will be along with a remind of when and where.  At the end of this blog are links to our calendar and this current schedule.

RCIL Friends are groups of individuals who all experience disability and meet monthly to address disability needs and issues in the community, such as health and wellness, safety, transportation and direct support worker concerns. The groups also meet on a regular basis for crafts and recreational activities.

Location and Times:
Emporia – Broadview Towers at 1:30pm on the 4th Monday of the month
El Dorado – RCIL’s Office at 1:00pm on the 4th Wednesday of the month
Eureka – Magic Circle Apartments at 1:00pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month
Fort Scott – High Rise Apartments at 1:00pm on the 4th Wednesday
Iola – Townhouse Apartments at 1:00pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month
Osage City – Park Place Apartments at 1:00pm on the 2nd Wednesday of the month
Paola – Paola Senior Center at 1:00pm on the 4th Friday of the month

Mandy has worked at RCIL since June of 2009. She is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist and provides services in 32 counties to individuals who are blind or have low vision and are 55 years and older.
