Community Connections
Community education and outreach is provided to increase public awareness of disability history, independent living philosophy, and other disability related topics. RCIL is committed to collaborative partnerships and networking within communities to increase access and expand the participation of persons with disabilities in services, programs, activities, resources and facilities. We partner with a variety of organizations, businesses and schools to provide events that help education community members about disabilities and disability-related concerns. These events included disability awareness and etiquette workshops, accessibility, transportation and health care training, and a variety of outreach and fundraising events. Each year, we increase our Disability History and Awareness Week participation in local schools by providing workshops, bulletin board displays and informative handouts.
Social Media
Because of our expansive coverage area, we have initiated a social media plan to stay connected to consumers, employees and friends of RCIL. Currently we have profiles and provide updates on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn as well as provide weekly updates on the home page of our website.
