Good news for individuals wanting self-direction resources! The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services with the Department on Aging and the Kansas Health Policy recently launched the Self-Directing Home and Community-Based Services website. The new website will help individuals with disabilities by providing resources to learn about planning and managing self-direction services.
The new website is located at selfdirection.ks.gov and features a lot of great information and resources, including:
- separate sections for individuals with disabilities, friends and family, case managers and community members,
- frequently asked questions,
- a calendar of events,
- an RSS feed that provides updates from the Community Supports and Services within the Kansas Department of Social Rehabilitation Services
- interactive forms to use when self-directing or planning for services,
- fiscal management service information for providers and case managers, and
- videos highlighting individuals who self-direct their services and the difference self-direction makes in their lives.
Please add this great resource to your list of bookmarks and check back regularly for tools that can help you (or a friend or family member) self-direct your care.
