Independent Living Specialist (Iola) – RCIL is seeking qualified individuals with a disability to work as Independent Living Specialists (ILS) in our newly renovated Iola office. ILS need excellent communication, time management, and documentation skills. ILS provide the five Core Services of Advocacy, Peer Support, Independent Living Skills Training, Deinstitutionalization/Youth Transition, and Information and Referral to persons with disabilities. The position also requires knowledge of disability issues, the independent living philosophy, and the HCBS Waivers available in the state of Kansas. The Independent Living Specialist shall focus his/her work complimentary to the spirit and intent of the independent living philosophy.
