RCIL Able to Assist Neighbors in Harveyville
Posted February 29, 2012 by Mandy Smith in RCIL Updates
Harveyville, Kansas was the site of an EF-2 tornado last night that struck without warning causing severe damage to dozens of homes and injuring 11 people, 3 critically.
RCIL employee, Stuart Jones, immediately requested permission to donate needed durable medical equipment to those in need.
Deone Wilson, our Deputy Director added cases of bottled water and Stuart delivered the equipment and water this afternoon to Harveyville. RCIL was able to donate 6 cains, 3 walkers, 2 commodes and 2 manual wheelchairs to assist the residents. The town and the Red Cross were both happy to receive this equipment.
The tornado season is off to an early start this year. Please be prepared. There is great information available on Ready.gov for emergency preparedness including how to create an emergency plan and how to assemble an emergency preparedness kit.
