Upcoming Blind/Low Vision Events

Posted February 8, 2023 by Mandy Smith in

I am hosting low vision independent living classes in Chanute on February 21st and 28th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. The first day will focus on overall skills of living with vision loss (cooking, cleaning, health care, transportation, communication, etc.) and the second day will be more focused on tools to help with these skills. This event is located at Southeast Kansas Area Agency on Aging (1 W. Ash Chanute). It is a free event and you are welcome to just come to one day if you are unable to attend both dates.

I am also hosting a low vision fair in Fredonia on March 9th at 10:30am. This event will include myself, Kansas Talking Books, Audio Reader, Assistive Technology for Kansans, and NanoPac explaining the services they offer and demonstrating assistive technology devices. This is a free event hosted at the Fredonia Library (807 Jefferson St.).

Please call me to RSVP to either or both events (785)528-3105

If you are interested in events like this but live too far away please call me for other opportunities.
