The Resource Center for Independent Living offers additional independent living services on a payment-for-performance basis.
We have the equipment and software to transcribe and produce documents in braille. We provide this service not only to our consumers, but also to our partner agencies and businesses in and around our communities on a fee for service basis.
We recognize that employment can be the key to independence and choice for people with disabilities, and we provide support services to help people achieve their employment goals. Services may include setting work goals, enhancing work skills, developing a resume, and preparing for an interview.
We also offer independent living, assistive technology and community-based work assessments; job preparation, including specialized assistance with housing, transportation, Plan for Achieving Self-Support (PASS) planning, budgeting, assistive technology and prescription drug programs; job search assistance; guided and customized job placement, including accommodations, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) surveys, benefits counseling and disability etiquette training, and short-term job coaching. We offer man of these services through provider agreement with Kansas Rehabilitation Services.
We offer an individualized, private-pay program for people with disabilities that offers the flexibility and control of self-directed care without the hassle of managing payroll, workers compensation and unemployment insurance.
Through this program, we provide consumer with information to assist them in developing and coordinating their own plan for services, including hiring a Direct Support Worker. This program is an excellent alternative for people with disabilities who don’t qualify for or are waiting to receive state-funded community based in-home services.
