KYEA/RCIL Spring Fling

Saturday, April 13th from 8:00am-2:00pm at RCIL’s Topeka office (519 Sw 37th Street Topeka, KS 66611) will be Kansas Youth Empowerment Academy (KYEA) and RCIL’s Spring Fling.  RCIL Assistive Technology team will be having a resource fair and durable medical equipment drive.  They will be taking equipment such as manual and power wheelchairs, hospital beds, scooters, shower chairs, transfer benches, vehicle lifts, communication devices, low vision aids, standers, reverse walkers, gate trainers, feeding seats, and support chairs.  Donations may be tax deductible.  Your donated durable medical equipment will be refurbished and given to another Kansan in need.

KYEA is having their 4th annual fundraising garage sale and bake sale.  Some gargage sale items include furniture, housewares, decor, CDs, DVDs, and toys.  Additional events also include a plant sale that procedes will go towards RCIL’s Build a Ramp Project and a voter registration drive.

Come on our to our Topeka office and register to vote and buy some goodies to help some great programs/projects!

Mandy has worked at RCIL since June of 2009. She is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist and provides services in 32 counties to individuals who are blind or have low vision and are 55 years and older.

RCIL Able to Assist Neighbors in Harveyville

Harveyville, Kansas was the site of an EF-2 tornado last night that struck without warning causing severe damage to dozens of homes and injuring 11 people, 3 critically.
